VETERANS BENEFITS

Including initial claims for benefits, appeals, homestead exemptions, community governance agreements, and other veteran and military family concerns. Mr. Miccolis is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

 

Including negotiations, mediation, and arbitration involving business disputes and other legal controversies. Mr. Miccolis works to resolve conflicts before they require litigation. He is a Florida Supreme Court Certified County Mediator.

ESTATE PLANNING

Including the preparation of wills, revocable living trusts, durable powers of attorney, advance health directives, and wealth preservation. Mr. Miccolis relates well to seniors and also understands the concerns of young families.

PROBATE

Including probate administration services and matters involving property, business interests, and disputes. Mr. Miccolis always works tirelessly to ease client burdens while handling matters as efficiently as possible.

LITIGATION

 

Including civil litigation, Mr. Miccolis is prepared to go to trial when necessary. He recognizes the cost and emotional stress that a lawsuit can cause a client, and he will work to resolve the action as efficiently as possible.

Mr. Miccolis' commitment to service is born out of his distinguished military career. He is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel who went on to work in business as both an operations research analyst and manager. This diverse background, bringing together almost 40 years of military, business, and technical experience, gives him a unique ability to empathize with clients and assist with their personal and legal issues. Clients find him easy to talk to, as he readily understands their goals.

MEET ATTORNEY LAWRENCE E. MICCOLIS 

Career Marine Corps Officer, Management Consultant

With over 20 years of honorable service, Mr. Miccolis retired as a U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel in 2004 after completing his last tour as a CH-53E helicopter squadron commander. He went on to work in defense contracting as both an operations research analyst and as a manager, assisting organizations in defining goals, creating strategic plans, and developing and refining quantitative business processes.

Still Serving His Community

Still passionate about serving as an advocate for others, Mr. Miccolis decided to study law as a second career in his chosen community of Tampa, Florida. While at Stetson University College of Law, he was selected to participate in the 2007 Phelps Dunbar First Year Appellate Oral Advocacy Competition, and was then selected as a member of the world renowned Stetson University Moot Court Board. He not only competed in several competitions, but also student coached a team to win Best Team. Mr. Miccolis went on to receive the Victor O. Wehle Award, an Excellence in Trial Advocacy award, and the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award. He continues to be active in the law school network by volunteering as an Advocacy Skills Trainer. In 2016, he received the Paul M. May Meritorious Service Award for continued support to the alumni association and the university. Mr. Miccolis continues to operate his law practice and proudly serves his fellow veterans and our community.
